Main Street East 36

The name Rose and Crown (sometimes just "The Crown") was first recorded in 1800, but was built in 1783 as an Inn for John Knighton, who ran it (with his farm of some 60 acres) for 40 years. Thereafter it was run by Thomas Danes (20 years), the John & Ann Crawley (30 years) and the Garratts (30 years).
