The area on which the present Laurel Farm was built
was destroyed in the 1861 fire. The present house was built in
1862. It appears always to have been rented from the Lord of the
Manor in combination with the Mill. Certainly the Brawn family
lived and farmed from here from 1840 for 50 years.
