Donkey, Palm Sunday procession, Gidding

The  procession down Main Street to St Michael’s Church on Palm Sunday has become somewhat of a tradition in the village. Led by a donkey, it reminds us of Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday.

For many years Henry Hill’s donkey, Boris, who is sadly no longer with us, was at the front of the procession. However Patrick (pictured above) has taken up the mantle of late, and will lead us to church on Sunday 24th March 2013.

We meet in the car park of the Fox & Hounds pub at 10.30am, then process down to the church, where there will be a short service service followed by refreshments. It is hoped that as many as can will join us. Should the weather be appalling, then please come along to the church at 11am.
