Wine Tasting Village Hall GG Saturday 22nd March From 7pm

Join us for a glass of fizz, followed by a tasting of 6 wines, for a bit of fun guess the price, grapes and learn how to be a wine detective!

Our resident Master of Wine Andrea Hargrave will guide you through the wines and share clues to assist your deductions.

Ticket price £15.00 per person including nibbles.

Proceeds go to the Village Hall.

Treasures from the Attic Sale in Great Gidding Village Hall

Giving you the chance to seek out and sell those treasures that no longer have a place in your home but may be perfect for someone else’s.

Space is limited and, as the last event was voted a great success, there is sure to be high demand. 

A sales table ‘pitch’ costs just £20. 

So book early, hunt out your treasures and join us for a fun event, complete with delicious refreshments.

Come along to Great Gidding Village Hall this Thursday 6th February and join our group drawing session. Beginners welcome.

Our friendly, informal group meet once a month in Great Gidding Village Hall for two hours to sketch or paint a still life or figure. All welcome (not just Gidding-ites)!

The sessions are untutored but we do a couple of short drawing exercises followed by a longer drawing session and help and advice will be freely available. All you will need to bring is a sketchbook and pencil or your chosen materials. 

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. 

Time: 10.00am – 12.00 noon

Date: Thursday 6th February 2025

Location: Great Gidding Village Hall

Cost: £5.00 per session (cash only please)

Gidding Photographic Competition

We need YOUR photographs of the local area to brighten up the Village Hall.

Local pictures by local people for our Hall.  It can be a building, a view, a church in fact virtually anything.

All entries should be sent by 11th January 2025:

  • Maximum of 3 photos per person
  • No cost to enter
  • We can only accept digital photos
  • Submit entries via email to pahargrave@icloud.com or if it’s a big file (over 3MB) we can guide you to use WeTransfer.com (ring 07775 711514)
  • The winning 3 photographs will be framed and hung in the Village Hall
  • All other entries will be put into a collage, framed and also hung.

Exhibition and judging – Coffee morning – 25th January 2025 10am to 12 noon

The village are invited to attend a coffee morning with cake, raffle, chatter and hopefully good cheer, to vote on their favourite 3 photographs.
