Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in the period……wide skirts and nets are in for the ladies, but so are hobble skirts and cardigans! Men can come as teddy boys in colourful zoot suits, or James Dean lookalikes, sporting sideburns and greased hairdos. Or they can go for the university look of leather-elbow patched cardigans….or  anything else you want!

Tickets are £15. Contact the CARESCO office on 01487 832105. Or Maggi Stewart, the organiser, on 01832 293759.

Jubilee Wood Winter Maintenance

Jubilee Wood Winter Maintenance

Jubilee Wood

Winter maintenance

The Jubilee Wood is in need of some ground maintenance. The area to the right of the main entrance is encroaching onto the grass ride. A five metre band from the entrance to the central grass area needs to be cleared, leaving just the planted trees.

You will need to bring loppers, shears, pruning saws and stout gloves or whatever you have in your garden maintenance armoury.

This work will commence from Saturday 15th November and for the following 3 Saturday’s starting at 10am for a couple of hours or however long you can give. I’m sure we can arrange a coffee break for 11am

Macmillan Coffee Morning at Glatton

Macmillan Coffee Morning at Glatton

It’s Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, where we ask people across the UK to hold a coffee morning and raise money for people living with cancer. In 2013, 154,000 people signed up, raising a record £20 million.

Glatton invites us to join them in helping to raise money for the Macmillan Fund

You are invited to come along and support Glatton Village’s contribution to the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 26th of September 2014. Delicious coffee and cakes will be served from 9:30am in the Village Hall. As you may have seen on the television, this campaign is to involve everyone, so cakes and pastries are gratefully received and anything you can contribute will be very special.

Contributions for the raffle greatly appreciated

There will be a raffle and if you can contribute to this, as well as buying tickets, it will help to raise money for the Macmillan Fund.
Everyone is welcome, so please do bring along friends and family to support this very worthwhile cause and make it another Glatton success story in raising money on Macmillan’s behalf.
Organizers: Rosie Breen and Mandy Allen.
