There will be a Harvest Festival Service at St Michael’s Church this Sunday, 7th September, at 11.30am, to which everyone is very welcome.
After the service, there will be a buffet lunch at Churchside House, (John DeVal’s home), to which everyone is invited. As usual, John’s delicious pea and mint soup will be on the menu.
There is no charge for this meal, but, to assist the catering staff, it would be helpful if you could let Sue Shepherd know (tel: 01832 293 479) if you are coming.
It will soon be here, so start thinking about your entries and bring them down to the village hall on Saturday, the 6th of September between 10 and 12 o’clock.
Doors open to visitors from 3.00pm
After that doors will be closed for the judging to begin and from 3 o’clock onwards the hall will be open for everyone to see how they’ve done.
Tea and cakes
Come down and see the exhibits even if you haven’t entered anything yourself and catch up with old friends (and make some new ones ) over a cup of tea and some delicious cakes which will be available in the little hall.
Games include: Scrabble, giant kerplunk and snakes and ladders. Supper includes jacket potato with fillings and salad. Strawberries and cream for pudding!
