On Maundy Thursday (24th March), there will a service of Compline in St Michael’s Church starting at 9pm. This service, lasting about 25 minutes, has been introduced as a number of people have expressed an interest.
This short service derives its name from a Latin word meaning ‘completion’ (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day.
After the end of the service, the altar will be stripped in preparation for Good Friday.
